Verdugo Youth Ensemble welcomes all beginning instrumentalists with little or no orchestral experience aged 7-13. Students learn the basics of ensemble playing and how to work with a conductor while they prepare music for performance. Abridged repertoire.The Verdugo Youth Ensemble meets in Glendale on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30. Tuition:$290, limited scholarships are available.

Verdugo Youth Orchestra, open to all instruments, is designed for intermediate players aged 8 and above. Abridged repertoire. The Verdugo Youth Orchestra meets in Glendale on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30. Tuition:$290, limited scholarships are available.

Verdugo Chamber Orchestra, open to all instruments, is for advanced players only, aged 14 and above who have experience and are prepared for standard repertoire. Verdugo Chamber Orchestra meets in Glendale on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30. Tuition: $50 registration fee. All positions are paid by scholarships.

Jazz Program
VYMA is proud to offer a 10 week jazz program with renowned Jazz instructor Richard Simon. The jazz program is open to all instrumentalists who are also enrolled in the Verdugo Youth Orchestra. Jazz meets on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30.

Auditions
VYMA's season runs from September through early June. Minimum requirement for membership is one year of weekly private lessons for instrumental programs, which must be continued throughout participation in VYMA. Auditions are held for the purpose of placement only, and are conducted with the same encouraging teaching style that characterizes VYMA rehearsals. Check our audition page for audition hints! Tuition is $290 per semester for each instrumental program. Limited scholarships are available.
